How We Work

LOFT CONVERSION COMPANY IN LONDON

When you are considering a loft conversion you will no doubt have a million questions. What is the best type of conversion for me? How much will it cost? What is going to change? What disruption can I expect? How long will it take? By working with us you get the chance to ask all these questions and more whenever you need to. Our process starts and finishes with one thing in mind: your satisfaction.

AS A GUIDE, YOU CAN EXPECT THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES TO TAKE PLACE:

WEEK 1

We start with getting all scaffolding set up. Skip will be delivered. A crane will help to get all materials into place and the flooring and beam work are installed.

WEEK 2

The main structure of your new loft begins. This is where you can start to see your loft begin to take shape.

WEEK 3

The basic loft structure will be completed, and we will make a start on the roof.

WEEK 4

The roof and all external work, including new windows, will be completed.

WEEK 5

We are now ready to attach your new loft to your home. We will create the access point and install your new staircase this week.

WEEK 6

We turn our attention to the interior, completing all decorating work including plastering, painting and wallpapering.

WEEK 7

Any plumbing or electrics work that needs to be completed will be finished this week.

WEEK 8

Any final snagging that needs to be addressed is done and a final inspection is carried out by the project manager. You are then invited to inspect the work yourself and once you are happy, your new loft is ready to use!

CONSTRUCTION AND SITE MANAGEMENT

All our work is carried out in a responsible manner and we always tidy up after ourselves. We aim not to get in your way and if at any stage we know an activity is going to be disruptive we will give you as much notice as possible. We give you a progress update at each milestone in the construction process and there is someone on site every day without exception. A site manager is also there throughout the build process to oversee the work and is available to answer any questions you may have.

DESIGN AND PLANNING

We start with a conversation about what you want to achieve. We discuss and outline all the loft conversion options for your particular area taking into account structural requirements, any legal restrictions there may be such as listed buildings, or conservation areas, and any planning policy constraints. If you need planning permission, we will help you to secure it as well as any other legal permissions that may be necessary. We will also advise and help you decide on the most suitable materials for your loft conversion so that it blends in beautifully with your existing home. We can also arrange for you to meet with the building inspector if you wish.
