Frequently Asked Questions About Home Renovations

Making the decision and getting started on improving your home can seem like a big undertaking. But the more you know what to expect, the more you realise it’s simpler than you feared. Below are answers to the most commonly asked questions and FAQs we get from clients about their home renovation plans, providing you with valuable insights and guidance to ensure a successful and stress-free remodeling experience.

Some of Our Top FAQ and cost breakdown inquiries.

How Much Will It Cost?

The cost of any renovation or extension will depend on how extensive (or not) the job is. We prepare an accurate quote for you, so you know how much the work will cost. In general, costs will depend on a number of factors, including:

  • The type and size of conversion or extension you want.
  • The size of your property.
  • The type of house you own.
  • Any building regulations placed on your home – for example, if your property is a listed building or you live in a conservation area.
  • Any additional installations or fixtures you would like to include.
  • Whether you need planning permission.

Will I Need Planning Permission?

Planning permission may be required, depending on what you are changing in your home. For example, where the loft or kitchen conversion exceeds 50 cubic metres, if you live in a listed property or a conservation area, or whether you or a previous owner have previously extended or altered the property amongst others. We will advise you whether you need to secure planning permission during our initial consultation.

Is The Work Guaranteed?

Yes. We offer a 10-year warranty on all the work that we do, so you know that you have made a reliable, long-term investment.

Do You Offer Plumbing, Electrical And Carpentry Services?

Yes, we do offer these services and can incorporate them into a tailored quote.

How Long Will The Work Take?

This will depend on what you are having done. We will give you a more accurate quote once we have talked through with you what you are looking to do and discussed all the available options. This way you will have a clear idea of timeframes.

Can I Continue To Live In The Property During The Work?

Usually, yes. Our construction team minimises noise, debris and disturbance as far as possible, enabling you to continue to live in the house. With extensions, much of the work can be undertaken from the outside using scaffolding along the exterior of your home to further reduce disruption.

Do I Need Drawings And Plans?

Our construction specialists work with established, experienced architects who will prepare the necessary drawings and plans for your renovation. However, if you have your own preferred architect, we will gladly accommodate this.

Do You Also Decorate?

Yes. We can arrange to decorate your conversion or extension to your bespoke requirements. Simply let us know what you have in mind and we can include it in your quote.
